Real Numbers Definition The set of rational numbers together with the set of irrational numbers. These include, whole numbers, integers, rational numbers and irrational numbers. Examples

Whole Numbers Definition Positive numbers Without a fraction or a decimal. Examples

Integers Definition The whole numbers and their opposites. Positive and Negative whole numbers. No fractions or decimals. Examples

Rational Numbers Definition Numbers of the form a/b, where a and b are integers and b does not equal 0 Positive and negative numbers. Fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, and repeating decimals Examples

Irrational Numbers Definition A number that can not be expressed as a/b, where a and b are integers and b does not equal 0 Decimals that will never repeat or terminate. Numbers with no pattern Examples
