ADDING POLYNOMIALS Add vertically: Line up like terms then add coefficients. Or add horizontally: Group like terms then add coefficients.

SUBTRACTING POLYNOMIALS Subtract vertically: Line up like terms and subtract. Change all signs like with elimination. Subtract horizontally: Distribute the negative then group like terms.
