5 Water Conservation Grant Program ~$450K in Department Contributions $240K in Rebates 278 Million Gallons Annual Water Savings (est.)  Equivalent to annual water use of >2,100 California homes  ~2% of total state facility water use  Est. return = ~47 gallons saved per dollar funded

6 DGS Water Conservation Projects Fixture Replacement  Most DGS-Managed Buildings  Toilets, Urinals, Faucet Aerators, Showerheads Replaced  >3,000 fixtures total  Some fixture replacements requiring more extensive plumbing retrofits $4.9 Million Investment when completed

7 DGS Water Conservation Projects Weather-based Irrigation Controllers  35 DGS-Managed Facilities  Installed Sub-metering  Flow Sensors  Replaced Controllers w/Weather-Based Controllers 3.8 Million Gallons Annual Water Savings (est.) $440,000 Investment Looking into Options for More Savings
