7 Contacting Sherman Tower
Aircraft shall switch to Sherman Tower prior to: The Final Approach Fix on a instrument approach VFR reporting point for course rules If past either point contact Approach and advise switching to Sherman Tower

8 ATIS Frequency 266.8/124.35 Call Approach with current ATIS code
Arresting gear status will be broadcast on the ATIS Simultaneous same direction ops

9 Arresting Gear Configurations
Runway 7/25 – 7R/25L short field arresting gear de-rigged, long field rigged No arresting gear rigged 7L/25R Off-Duty runway, both arresting gear rigged Runway 1/19 – No arresting gear on active Both gear rigged on 7R/25L

10 Parallel Runway Ops Runways are ONLY 500’ apart edge to edge
Butterfly patterns are common practice 7R - right traffic / 7L - left traffic 25L - left traffic / 25R - right traffic Any instructor/student pilot self-initiated wave off must over-fly assigned runway and maintain assigned altitude

2000’ restriction on Course Rules until 3DME, Instrument traffic is at 1500’ Always acknowledge runway assignment When operating in VFR traffic pattern, advise Tower prior to last approach for coordination purposes High Key altitude 3000’, Low Key 1500’ Wake Turbulence – Must state “Waive” Option is not the same as Missed Approach

12 Overhead Maneuver “Right/Left Break Approved”
Standard Right Break(7R) and Left Break(25L), line up over Taxiway Alpha when inbound. Left Break (7L) and Right Break (25R) line up north of the Runways. Runway (1) Right Break, Runway (19) Left Break, line up over Taxiway Bravo. “At the Numbers, Break Right/Left” Break is expected to occur AT the approach end numbers “Follow (Acft) on Downwind” Is used in lieu of “Right break approved” or “Break Right” Pilot is expected to break when, in his/her judgment, separation with interval will be maintained

18 GCA Pattern 8 Downwind - 200KIAS Final
150KIAS until 8 DME (T-6) or Final Approach Fix, then final approach speed Base/Dogleg 180KIAS  (T-45 will extend on downwind and will maintain 200KIAS) 8 If returning to the field for a straight-in GCA: 200KIAS until 15 DME, then 180KIAS until 8 DME Downwind - 200KIAS

19 GCA Pattern Speed Downwind - 200KIAS
Base - 180KIAS (T-45 will extend on downwind and will maintain 200KIAS) Final - 150KIAS until 8 DME (T-6) or Final Approach Fix If returning for a straight-in GCA: 200KIAS until 15 DME, then 180 until 8 DME For Arcing approaches: High altitude approach: 250KIAS until intercepting one of the conditions above Low altitude approach: 200KIAS until intercepting one of the conditions above

Daytime, VFR, Good or better Braking Action Distances measured from landing threshold USAF a/c do not participate in RRS

27 Tower Aircraft are expected to exit the runway as soon as practicable.
USAF T-6’s clean up on downwind Wave-Off Lights – Provide visual mandatory wave off instruction. Located on all runways at 900’, 1700’, and 2500’ from threshold. The clusters are 25 ft. outboard from the runway.

30 Preventive Control Entry as specified below unless Tower specifies otherwise East – Fort Pickens east along the coast West – Johnson Beach west along the coast North – Southbound remain north of parallel runways and extended arrival/departure centerlines until instructed to cross by Tower Exit – is reverse of above Tower VFR fixed wing pattern to all runways is 800 feet, so it is imperative that you remain at or below 300 feet

31 Preventive Control cont’d
Entry and exit at or below 300’ Can be to any runway as assigned by the Tower “Right/Left Preventive control approved Runway ____”. Or “Right/Left Preventive control approved with ____, Runway ____.” It’s up to you to decide how to manage this with traffic assigned. You must get approval to do auto’s in the preventive control pattern, specify the altitude requesting Exiting let us know the number of operations and departure request (Hospital route…)
