GENERAL ASSEMBLY The General Assembly is the main deliberative assembly of the United Nations. It is composed of all United Nations member states, the assembly meets in regular yearly sessions, but emergency sessions can also be called. GA was established on 24 June 1945. INDEX

FUNCTIONS General Assembly examines reviews the general principles of cooperation in the maintenance of peace and international security. INDEX

PRESIDENT The assembly is led by a president, and 21 vice-presidents. The president is elected annualy by a vote by the assembly, but it respected rotation by country of origin: Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America e Carribean, Western Europe and rest of the world. END
