ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE OLYMPICS 2012 London Olympics: Gold: 100m Backstroke, 4x200m Freestyle Relay, 200m Backstroke (WR), 4x100m Medley Relay (WR) Bronze: 4x100m Freestyle Relay

ACCOMPLISHMENTS (CONTINUED) Not only did Franklin win the 200m Backstroke in the 2012 Olympic Games, she broke a world record and became the first American female swimmer to win the event in the Olympics in 40 years.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS (CONTINUED) Some of her awards include: USA Swimming Athlete of the year in 2012 and Swimming World’s World Swimmer in 2012 and the Best U.S. Female Olympian ESPY Award in 2013.

INTERESTING FACTS Franklin played basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics, and skating before trying swimming Franklin has dual citizenship with Canada. Franklin competed at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials at age 13.
