System Requirements are the prerequisites needed in order for a software or any other resources to execute efficiently. Most software defines two sets of system requirements: minimum and recommended. With increasing demand for higher processing power and resources in newer versions of software, system requirements tend to increase over time.
3
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit) Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit) Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
4
The power of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a fundamental system requirement for any software. Most software running on this architecture define processing power as the model and the clock speed of the CPU.
5
Type: AMD Word size: 64-bits Processor Speed: 1- 4 GHz Type: INTEL Word size: 64-bits Processor Speed: 1- 4GHz
6
CPU clock speed is measured in Hertz — generally in gigahertz, or GHz. Eg. 1.8GHz, 2 GHz etc. Word size refers to the number of bits processed by a computer's CPU in one go (these days, typically 32 bits or 64 bits).
8
Memory requirements are defined after considering demands of the application, operating system, supporting software and files, and other running processes. PS. All software, when run, resides in the Random Access Memory (RAM) of a computer.
10
Memory Capacity: 1– 4GB Speed: 256 -533MHz Ram Type: SDRAM or DDR or DDR2 or DDR3
11
Hard-disk requirements vary, depending on the size of software installation, temporary files created and maintained while installing or running the software, and possible use of swap space (if RAM is insufficient).
12
Storage Capacity: 80 GB – 4 TB Speed: 3600- 7200 rpm(rev per minute) Hard Disk Controller: IDE or SATA
13
The Storage capacity of a hard disk determines the amount of information that it can store for later use. Eg. 80GB – 4 TB The hard disk speed are normally expressed as data transfer rate or revolution per minute. Eg. 1 – 3Gb/s
14
Compact Disk Drive
15
DVD-Drive
16
A port is a piece of technology that is used to connect of technology that is used to connect external devices to a computer system. Parallel Ports
17
Serial Ports USB Ports
18
Expansion slots are sockets found on the main circuit board(motherboard) that are used to insert additional circuit boards. Three types of expansion slots are ◦ PCI-Peripheral Component Interconnect ◦ AGP – Accelerated Graphics Card ◦ ISA – Industry Standard Architecture
25
