3  What was different?  Utilized capsule principals  Changed choice of topics for students to pick from airport design and design bicycle alternative to autos  To design a recycle plan for the school, perform an energy audit for the school, design and make a prototype of a product from recycled materials

4  Students wanted to work on the project  Students cared about the project  Students came up with some real and usable solutions  Capsule’s Dan & $$ came to Fenway twice to help students think through the project  Cambridge Energy Alliance talked to students about energy efficiency  Audrey from HEET talked to one group about energy audits

5  Teacher wasn’t good in tracking students group work  Two students did not engage in group work as well as they should have  Students did not understand the purpose of this project in their math class ( class feedback)

20  Intro packet needs to be shorter and more clear( show packet )  Rubrics for presentation need to be clear  Rubric for paper needs to be clear  Engineering design process needs to be taught to students in the 9 th, 10 th, and 11 th grades using various projects in order for them to use it naturally

21  Should students do a PPT on entire Engineering Design process or just do one page ?  What film would be best to show Sustainability issues?  I should devote one day to teaching the math of sustainability?  Should I use the chair building exercise to illustrate the engineering design Process?
