Absolute value of rational numbers Absolute Value means the distance a number is from zero. (Distance is always a non-negative number). Examples: Evaluate each... This is asking for the “opposite” of the absolute value of –8. –8 How far is –13/24 from 0? 13 24 –5 + 7 2
