14. Examples  This term I am going to be working hard on my French. I think it is important for me to be able to speak some French so I can be nice to a French visitor in this country. I get a bit nervous when I have to say French words out loud but I am going to make myself answer questions. If I make a mistake that is OK. I may sound a bit silly but we are all learning together. My teacher is learning too.

15. As a parent you can add a comment about the post. It should always be focused on the learning.

16. A few pointers about Eportfolios  Your child’s teacher is involved in every post. That may not be immediately visible but it is happening.  There may still be errors …. It is not about producing a perfect piece of work. It is about the discussion and understanding.  We are still exploring Glow. You will find over this year that pictures, attachments, inserts will appear as the children become more confident

17. What can you do? Get involved with the discussion!  What are you learning?  Why do you think it is important to learn …?  What if you get stuck, what will you do? Be a learner yourself! Show your kids that we are all learning all the time! Talk through different steps Share mistakes Talk about getting stuck and finding solutions.

Book Bug Bags  All P1s will get a Book Bug Bag home tonight filled with some children’s books and activities.  The Booktrust do gift Book Bags to all P1s to show the value of reading to children and adults.  Please enjoy reading everyday with your child.  Remember, we are never to old to be read to!
