Make It Lumpy The first goal of a direct mail campaign is to get your envelope opened. I find mailers with a lumpy object inside of the envelope have a near 100 percent open rate.

Use a Stamp Consumers can tell when something has been mass-mailed. Make the envelope look like it came from a person rather than a machine. Try using stamps instead of metered mail.
