Chapter VII New provisions Section New provisions A-VII/1New par. 4 Support level - Text of paragraph 4 has been replaced Every candidate for certification at the support level: Sub-paragraph 4.1 in navigation or marine engineering shall be required to complete relevant training and meet the standard of competence for the function prescribed in either table A ‑ II/4 or table A-III/4. Functions specified in table A-III/4 or A-II/4 respectively may be added provided the candidate completes, as appropriate, additional relevant training and meets the standard of competence prescribed in those tables for the function concerned January 20115 Maritime Training & Human Element Section IMO Familiarization with the 2010 Manila Amendments

Chapter VII New provisions Section New provisions New paragraph 4 (cont’d) Every candidate for certification at the support level: A-VII/1 Sub-paragraph 4.2 as able seafarer deck shall be required, in addition to comply with the standard of competence specified in table A-II/5, to complete relevant training and meet the standard of competence for all of the functions prescribed in table A- II/5. Chapter VII New provisions Section New provision New paragraph 4 (cont’d) Every candidate for certification at the support level: Sub paragraph 4.3 as able seafarer engine shall be required, in addition to comply with the standard of competence specified in table A-III/5, to complete relevant training and meet the standard of competence for all of the functions prescribed in table A ‑ III/5. Functions specified in table A-II/4 or A-II/5 may be added provided the candidate completes, as appropriate, additional relevant training and meets the standard of competence prescribed in the table(s) for the function(s) concerned. Chapter VII New provisions Section New provisions B-VII/2 Support level - Text of B-VII/2 has been filled in by: New title Guidance regarding special integrated deck and engine training programmes Paragraph 1 Each Party should ensure that any special integrated deck and engine-room training programme:.1 is provided by means of an approved training programme;.2 takes place ashore within maritime training institutions and/or on board approved training ships; and.3 is documented in an approved training record book.
