Prince George’s County Public Schools 3 The Evaluation Process- Completed within 90 days Written Referral IEP Team Meeting Scheduled YES – refer for assessments. You have 90 days to complete evaluation process. You have 60 days to complete and review assessments from the point of parental consent. Review assessments and determine disability for services Does IEP Team suspect a disability? IF NO – ends process

Prince George’s County Public Schools 5 Annual Requirements IEP Team revises IEP annually Ensure IEP is implemented at beginning of school year Extended School Year (ESY) discussed annually

Prince George’s County Public Schools 6 Reevaluation- Completed Every Three years Reevaluate Student Every Three Years IEP Team, including parents, Decides if and what assessments are needed YES – Complete and Review Assessments within 60 days IF NO – The reevaluation is complete

Prince George’s County Public Schools 8 Top Ten IEP Points 1.Every student receiving special education and related services must have an IEP (Individualized Education Program), which is a legal document.

When implementing the IEP, the instructional delivery must involve the student’s IEP, the Curriculum Frameworks Progress Guides, the Voluntary State Curriculum, supported by PGCPS approved texts and materials, and supplementary aids and services.

Prince George’s County Public Schools 10 Top Ten IEP Points 3. Every professional servicing students should locate the building copies of the IEP, and review them for their caseloads. 4. Every professional servicing students should discuss MD Online access with the System Administrator in the school.

Prince George’s County Public Schools 11 Top Ten IEP Points 5. Each IEP should be generated by MD Online. 6. MD Online is important because it is the manner in which we capture data for a wide variety of purposes, including reporting to the state and the federal government.

Each IEP should be developed with consideration of : Present Levels of Performance (academic achievement an functional performance) Measurable goals and objectives Accommodations and modifications Supplementary aids Least Restrictive Environment Support for Personnel

Prince George’s County Public Schools 15 Top Ten IEP Points 8. Progress on IEP goals and objectives must be reported at least quarterly, in the MD Online Progress Report. 9. A hard copy of the IEP Progress Report must be maintained in the student’s Limited Access Folder and a hard copy must be sent to the parent.

Prince George’s County Public Schools 16 Top Ten IEP Points -Point Ten 10.The IEP must be reviewed at least annually, progress reviewed at a formal meeting, and development of new goals and objectives should occur, as appropriate.
