2 Leisure and recreation allows an individual to life a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Activities can be competitive or non-competitive and suit a variety of purposes. 1. Leisure Leisure time is the portion of time allocated free of work duties. TASK: Can you name some leisure activities?

3 Recreational activities provide a person with time to relax. Recreation time is a diversion from day-to-day duties. 2. Recreation TASK: Can you list some non-competitive recreational activities?

5 Recreational Activities The benefits of recreational activities include 1.General fitness 2.Not too stressful on the body 3.Suitable for all age ranges. 4.Social benefits 5.Can be done at the individuals pace. 6.Non-competitive nature is appealing to some.

6 Taking part in Physical Education can provide intrinsic rewards to the participant. Intrinsic rewards are feeling of doing well and succeeding.
