HENRY HUDSON By Holly Madsen

Henry Hudson was a sailor from Holland. He and England kept searching for a northern sea rout to Asia, in 1609 the Dutch east India company hired Henry to sail out to china by the northern shores of Europe.

WHILE SAILING ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST OF NORTH AMERICA HUDSON AND HIS MEN ENTERED A NARROW HARBOR. THERE HUDSON SAW A LARGE BODY OF WATER LEADING NORTH,THINKING THIS WAS THE NORTH WEST WATER PASSAGE HUDSON SAILED UP THE WATER WAY.

WHEN IT CAME TO SHALLOW FOR HIS BOAT HE REALIZED THIS WAS JUST A RIVER. TODAY THEY CALL THE RIVER HE SAILED UP THROUGH THE HUDSON RIVER AFTER HIM.

Finally he reached Canada and sailed north. He went through a long narrow river into a large body of water he thought he had reached the pacific ocean (he didn't). He actually reached a bay now called today the Hudson bay.

He actually reached a large bay. Now today they call that the Hudson bay. In there the water froze over trapping his boat for the winter.

IN THE SPRING TIME THE CREW REBELLED AGAIN. THEY SET HUDSON,HIS SON,AND SEVERAL OTHERS IN A SMALL BOAT SO THEY COULD LEAVE AFTER THAT THEY NEVER SAW HUDSON AGAIN.
