Why is direct vocabulary instruction so important?

Fourth grade knows 3 rd grade teaches addition. Third grade knows 2 nd grade teaches how to add. Second grade knows 1 st grade teaches adding numbers together. First grade knows K teaches putting numbers together.

On the left side, under curriculum, under CORE is more info than you want. Explore that later. NOW, go to PASS Implemented State Curriculum. On the left, go to Building Academic Vocabulary (BAV). I’m going to second grade. There’s my word list. Check it out, and be sure to look down at the bottom for games, templates and flashcards. Take some time to discuss this.
