The young people poured the water which a good fragrance did into a palm while expressing a feeling of respect, and saying to superior person and parents with " สวัสดีปีใหม่ " (A Happy New Year).

It gradually developed into the event of the "festival" that it splashed water on each other.

Now?? In a part a holy ceremony is held, but everybody splashes water on each other when they appear in the town. Local Thais splash the water on each other with every many tools.

It is impossible for everyone to avoid from splashing water as far as they are Thailand at this time.
