5 Arrange car-pooling if required Hand out detailed driving instructions At destination check that cars are parked safely Check that all participants have arrived Take your participant list & temporary members forms with you 5.2 – On the Day of the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk

9 Lead the walk, setting a suitable pace Stop / pause at all track intersections Make use of interesting features for drink stops Regulate the group’s speed Monitor all your walker’s condition Have adequate morning tea and lunch breaks 5.5 – During the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk

10 Do not extend the walk or change the walk unless absolutely necessary or by the agreement of all walkers 5.5 – During the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk

11 Count to ensure that everyone is back Check your walkers’ condition Record details of any incident/accident with details of two witnesses Thank everyone Advise details of afternoon tea venue Start all car engines and leave together 5.6 – At the End of the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk
