Project Description The adaptive digital thermostat is a cost- effective and facile system that allows a user to maintain a personal temperature while present without any physical adjustment. Uses Bluetooth to “sense” users

How it works… 1. Thermostat with Bluetooth adapter 2. Adapter polls once every two seconds 3. Bluetooth-enabled phone responds

How it works… 4. Adapter gets phone’s device name (ID) 5. Adapter passes name to microcontroller 6. Microcontroller looks up preference 7. Operates like a normal thermostat ID

Market Research Current thermostat options include Mechanical, Digital, & Wireless. No similar products on the market HVAC market has grown 24% over the last 19 years.

Suggested Retail Value Costs: R&D: $6532.20 Overhead:$1.1 million Production: $89.92 per unit Producing 32,000 units with a 10% profit margin gives suggested retail price of $136.95 Cheaper than high end thermostat ($200).
