3 D EFINITION Mechatronics Mechatronics is a field that combines the following skill sets: Electrical Mechanical Programming Welding Hydraulics Programmable logic controls (PLC) Robotics Fabrication Mechatronics technicians install, maintain and repair industrial equipment

4 W HAT IS AMTEC Industry-Led Curriculum AMTEC works with colleges and industry partners to create industry-led maintenance certification assessments and to validate college curriculum aligned to industry-led skills standards. AMTEC is a collaboration of community and technical colleges and industry partners who seek to better prepare highly skilled technicians and manufacturing engineers for work in automobile manufacturing and technology.

11 CTC M ECHATRONICS U PDATES | 11 Phase I Centralia College, Clover Park Technical College, Everett Community College Crosswalk existing curriculum with AMTEC, Identified instructor needs (leveraging the AMTEC academy) and equipment needs Already going after external funding - Centralia Profession development & equipment Delphi with industry partners Access to diagnostic assessment to benchmark students After spring quarter have students take online NOCTI assessment for the modules that they feel are already cover Possibility of veteran pathway - Clover Park (TBD) & Everett (April 2016) CoE for construction bringing in industry partners – Clover Park Goal: start program in Sept 2016 Phase II Shoreline (machining) & North Seattle (electronics) First Phase II CTC’s to do crosswalk later this spring Renton Technical College looking at other funding to bring RTC up to a phase I college
