3. © Property of ERCOT 2004 3 Dynamic Ratings  This project will allow ERCOT to maintain “dynamic” line ratings that take into account real-time ambient temperature, adjusting a given line’s rating up or down, as appropriate.  This will allow additional capacity across those lines during cooler ambient temperature conditions, greatly benefiting market participants by reducing congestion costs. (increasing market efficiency)

4. © Property of ERCOT 2004 4 Remote Access to Study Cases  The solution will allow TSPs to remotely and securely access STNET network study cases in the EMS component of the Market Operations Testing Environment (MOTE).  Clones will exist for each TSP.  TSPs will thus be able to work in conjunction with ERCOT modeling engineers to tune the network model, enhancing its efficiency.

6. © Property of ERCOT 2004 6 Release 4  Enhancement to OOM tools Allows operator to enter in summary mode: Can modify and existing OOM which has not deployed Can issue fleet deployments (PRR 422) Business tracking of VDI’s & electronic transfer Can retract an OOM which has not started Display enhancement’s: shows SCADA/instructed levels Allows OOM below minimum operating level to QF’s only via VDI

7. © Property of ERCOT 2004 7 Release 4 Improve Data Elements for Local Constraints  Forces standardization of naming convention  In OOM tool select from a list of OC2 & OC3’s Currently SPD does not include OOM’d units in AS. This changes SPD to allow inclusion of OOM units in AS.

8. © Property of ERCOT 2004 8 RAP-C Modeling Enhancements  This project was created to solve the problem of proposed Remedial Action Plans which are not always valid.  This project will provide Operators with displays explaining what conditions are required before depending upon a “conditional” Remedial Action Plan, and a method of determining if these conditions allow use of the RAP  This is expected to reduce transmission congestion through enhanced market efficiencies.

9. © Property of ERCOT 2004 9 SCADA/SE Performance Monitoring  SE currently provides limited summary and diagnostic information. The solution accuracy is limited due to the lack of any performance monitoring tools.  This project will provide performance measurements and tracking which will allow effective management of our State Estimator support.  The project is expected to improve solution accuracy provided by SE through improved targeting of personnel in detecting, and correcting bad input parameters to SE.

10. © Property of ERCOT 2004 10 Outage Scheduler Enhancements Phase II  Project required for compliance with PRR425.  Changes to Outage Scheduler application include: Implementing performance metrics. Adding version tracking for outage updates. Adding sort capabilities and increasing notes capacity. Adding ability to disable an active, approved & continuous outage for a selected time period. Creating new roles that allow different privileges. Developing an electronic form for the TSP to fill out when a New, Relocated, Temporary Re-Route “In-Service” goes into service.
