3 SAAC Efforts to Date  Blackboard site developed  Meeting with Interim AVPAA on October 29, 2014 –Discussed modifications to the curriculum change approval process –Obtained feedback on how SAAC can help facilitate process  First meeting on November 3, 2014 –Reviewed committee charge –Created timeline for review of curriculum change proposals –Established standing meeting dates –Agreed on timeline for review of MS in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering proposal  Determined timeline for review of MS in Cyber Security Engineering Technology proposal

5 SAAC Curriculum Change Review Process  SAAC chair will contact the authoring department −Receipt of proposal by SAAC −Identify review window and pertinent meeting dates −Tentative invitation to SAAC and Senate meetings  Activity during SAAC curriculum change review window –Independent review of proposals –Use of Blackboard discussion thread(s) –Submission of questions to authoring department  Activity during SAAC standing meetings –Opportunity for department to respond to questions –Vote on proposals

6 Next Steps for SAAC  Review MS in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering and MS in Cyber Security Engineering Technology new program proposals (currently underway) –Meet on December 1 st to briefly discuss and vote –Send proposals to appropriate Senate officer for possible posting to Senate website o Would need to be password-protected to ensure internal campus use only o Allows advance review of proposals by Senate meeting attendees –Present high-level overview of proposals to Senate on December 9 th  Review additional proposals for curriculum changes during corresponding review window when received from the Provost’s office  Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for SAAC*  Evaluate SAAC timeline for review of curriculum changes in collaboration with Senate Chair and Interim AVPAA* * Spring 2015
