5
Do you foresee the Ghana cedi stabilizing with the next three months (ie Jul – Sept)?
6
Industry’s recommendations to Government on best practices for stabilizing the Ghana Cedi. 1. Government should support manufacturers (with a stimulus package) to boost local production so the demand for foreign goods can decrease. As a result, import of foreign goods will be minimal. 2. Government should ensure fiscal discipline at all times, not only under IMF programs. 3. Government should ensure the directive on doing business in Ghana using the local currency (solely) is adhered to.
7
Will the deregulation policy recently introduced by Government achieve the desired result?
8
Did you have to lay off some employees sorely due to the inadequate power supply?

MAJOR CHALLENGES
10
THE INDICATOR The Business Barometer Indicator is the statistical mean of Situation and Expectation The BB expresses the state of the business confidence as an index, with 100 as the base index. It is calculated out of “current” business mood and “expectations” for the future. This simple “balance method” is applied by many Business Climate Indicators.

INDICATOR RESULTS
13
CONCLUSION Confidence level still remains below the base index of 100 even in spite of the marginal improvement in Business Confidence in Q2 2015 (87.9) as compared to Q1 2015 (85.0). Industry is uncertain about the current fuel price deregulation policy achieving its desired result. Employment level within the next six months is expected to remain the same. Job cuts due directly to the power crisis is minimal. The major challenges that Industry continues to face include cedi depreciation/exchange rate volatility, inadequate power supply and multiplicity of taxes.
