Solve Sunsbo The shadows in the photograph are really important and give the effect of it The lines on the body of the model are really important. This picture is all about shadows, what the model has all over her body A contrast is created. The model’s lips are painted with a light orange lipstick which gives a contrast in comparison to the other colors in the photograph The white skin looks good in the photograph. It makes the picture look as if it was in B&W The photographer is trying to make the hair look soft as texture and shiny which gives the photograph a clean side to it and it is really simple but powerful

Theme Solve Susnbo is a fashion photographer for magazines and therefore, most of his shoots are done in studios. Working with many famous brands has allowed him to work with his creativity as he wanted. The name of the photo-shoot for Numero was named ‘Points a la Ligne’. The main theme, which is seen in photograph I choose to focus on, is shadow and contrast. The shadows on the body are lines which are perfectly alienated throughout the whole body. The contrast is made between the black shadows and the skin which looks white, but not necessarily pale instead it looks a bit shiny. Not only the shadows of the lines are black but the hair looks dark as well and shiny too, as well with the skin. What stands out the most in the photograph is the colored lips which go along with the theme, as they make a contrast with the white skin and the black shadows.

CONTEXT Being a good fashion photographer, brands and magazines will call you to take pictures for them. Fashion magazines, such as Numero, the pictures would be more about actually selling the clothes and the brand which means the photograph, would not necessarily need To have a meaning behind them. ‘Points a la Ligne’ is French for ‘points on the line’ and that is the main context of the photograph. Each photograph from the same photo-shoot play with the theme of shadow and use point and lines.

Guy Catling The weapons represent a scenery of war and conflict so we can tell that the people in the photograph are soldiers From the expressions of the soldiers we can tell they are looking up at the sky, waiting for something to come down. As it is during the war we can infer that they might be waiting for bombs to be dropped The floral patterns on the helmets make a contrast in the picture and also give a sense of hope to the whole situation The blurred background emphasizes the people and the floral patterns in the front
6
Theme The theme of the artwork is black and white and floral patterns. The black and white old photographs (which Catling takes from other artists) stand out more with the floral patterns in them. There is a really big contrast between the things in the picture and the colorful patterns in it. Being a graphic designer, his main works are done with by computer using different apps, mainly Photoshop therefore, one of the themes in the photgraph is graphic design.
7
Context The context in the artwork is war. Most of Guy Catiling's works are used to express something terrible into something positive. First of all, adding the colors into the black and white photographs turns the context of the picture into something totally different. The contrast is also really important because the colors of the patterns stand out from the black and white. Flowers are also used to represent something good, or used in memory of someone or something. The contrast is not only done between the colors but also between the subjects; war x flowers. He does not work for anyone, all his works are done for passion.
