2 Carly Kaden Prewriting stage GPS- ELA4W4. The student consistently uses a writing process to develop, revise, and evaluate writing. PLO- The student completes a graphic organizer to create a color poem

3 Form of writing- When using color poetry you begin the first three lines with a color. Describe it in the fourth line. And begin with that color in the last. You can repeat same color in each line or you may choose a different color. In a color poem you are using describing words to tell what the color is.

4 Stage of writing- Prewriting There are four key terms you will use when talking about the prewriting stage. Those are form, audience, purpose, and graphic organizer. The form is the type of poem that you will be writing. Today, we are going to be writing color poems.

5 The audience is who you are writing this poem for. Today your audience is going to be the class. The purpose is why you are writing this poem. We are writing these poems to entertain. The last part is the graphic organizer. This will help you put your ideas in an organized manner.

8 Gold It is smooth pebbles, dark coins, and bright sand. Gold is beautiful treasure and fabulous jewelry. Gold tastes like yummy candy. Gold feels like hard rocks. Gold is popular.

9 Red Red is the sun on a hot day and a beautiful rose. Red tastes like sweet raspberries and a sticky cherry. Red feels like ice cold soda. It is like a sweet soda, a beautiful sunflower, and a sweet rose. Red is fragrant.

10 Practice Activity Teacher will model a completed graphic organizer. Then using a shared pen technique the class will collaboratively create their own graphic organizer.

11 Assessment Activity After the teacher modeled a completed color poem graphic organizer, and provided practice and feedback for the students; the students will then complete their own graphic organizers using the template provided.

12 Kelly Roberts Drafting Stage GPS- ELA4W4. The student consistently uses a writing process to develop, revise, and evaluate writing. PLO- Students will use their graphic organizers to begin writing their first copy of their color poems.

14 Stage of writing- Drafting Drafting is a sketch. The students will be taking their prewriting and placing their ideas into complete sentences to begin the drafting stage.

15 Practice Activity Teacher will model a completed draft of a color poem. Then using a shared pen technique the class will collaboratively write a draft of a color poem.

16 Assessment Activity After the teacher modeled a completed color poem draft, and provided practice and feedback for the students; the students will then complete their own drafts using their completed graphic organizers.
