Microscope Cleaning Request Microscope Cleaning Request Removal of Hazardous Chemicals ● Please email Mike Wiltzius at mwiltzius@wcpss.net mwiltzius@wcpss.net (cc Kristana Rogers at krogers@wcpss.net) The email should include the following information: 1.the name of the 2.Chemical 3.the size of the container (gallon, liter, etc.) 4.any other pertinent information (such as crystallization on the bottle, leaking, etc.) *Prepare an SDS sheet for when the chemical is picked up* NCFE’s 2015-16 As of today, the waiver is in place for 2015-16 to not administer NCFE’s. This is always subject to NC State Board of Ed Approval.

S CIENTIFIC L ITERACY Scientific literacy is the knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts and processes required for personal decision making, participation in civic and cultural affairs, and economic productivity. It also includes specific types of abilities. A person is able to: describe, explain and predict natural phenomena. read and understand articles about science and engage in social conversation about the validity of conclusions. identify scientific issues underlying national and local decisions and express positions that are scientifically and technologically informed. evaluate the quality of scientific evidence on the basis of its source and methods used to generate it. pose and evaluate arguments based on evidence and to apply conclusions from such arguments appropriately.
