3 Analyze Grade Level DRA2 scores Use the “Plum Book” (EMAD) as a guide to identify students who are below goal Focus on A (Approaching) and D (Does Not Meet Benchmark/Needs Intervention) students.

9 Now what??? 1.Choose a book. 2.Book Introduction. 3.Listen and watch student read. 4.Record behaviors on Observation Guide. 5.Recognize and compliment one thing the student did well. 6.Provide one teaching point based on what you observed. 7.Plan future teaching points/possible groups.

10 Next Steps-On Your Own Does your classroom library support your readers right now? Review DRA2 assessments to see what behaviors were noted. Review EIP notes. Gather materials and organize for reading observations and small group instruction (books, make copies of Observation Guides, anecdotal record forms).
