The cause Many people think that the dust bowl was a natural disaster, but it could have been avoided. The dust bowl was caused by farmers planting wheat over and over again. This happened ‘cause of wheat prices increasing from $0.40 to $6.00 a bushel. Connections I connected this with the goose that laid the golden egg. In this story a goose lays a golden egg, a guy kills the goose & tries to pull more eggs out but they didn’t develop yet. The happening The cloud of dust was 1 mile high and 1,000 ft. wide.
