4 Fish Bowl Participants in the fishbowl have an opportunity to share experiences, ideas, and reflections. Observers of the fishbowl discussion have an opportunity to gain insights, form opinions, and generate questions. Everyone has an opportunity to develop a higher awareness of the competencies and an increased understanding of various experiences and viewpoints. 4

Read over your Working Systemically Competencies handout and reflect on the following: The Fish Bowl Task –What competences were successfully established in Phases I–III? – What competences were more challenging? – What are the implications for you as a facilitator for the development of the competencies in Phase IV? 6
