A fun fall project GLUE / PASTEL FALL PUMPKIN DRAWINGS

Day 1: VA.6.5.1~Practice contour and gesture drawings Day 2: VA.6.5.7 ~ Demonstrate a printmaking process STANDARDS

Day 1 Student’s will sketch pumpkins Student will create a pumpkin drawing or landscape using contour lines. Students will trace lines with glue. OBJECTIVE

Day 2 Students will create 2 prints with the previously drawn and dried picture. (Teacher will model) using crayon. Students will add color to their main piece (the drawing traced with glue), with chalk pastels. OBJECTIVE

Fold you sketch paper into 4 Sketch your pumpkins/ outline for your pictures STEP 1

Draw the sketch, you like the best, on your black construction paper STEP 2

Trace your contour pencil lines with glue. Use toothpicks to smooth it out, or Q-tips You must finish today so your picture will be dry for next time. Keep it simple! STEP 3

Tape the edges to hold sides together Create crayon rubbing “prints” Over lap colors, and be creative! Try to keep the papers very still, Be patient WE WILL

The chalk will not go over the glue, this is called chalk resist… Color your picture using the colors you like to convey your message about your work NOW WE ARE GOING TO COLOR OUR ORIGINAL ARTWORKS USING PASTELS!
