WP 4.2 meeting, 13 September 20062 Summary BPM design more or less finalized Al prototype ≥50% done, need ~2 weeks Need to test the model and fix the tolerances ~2 weeks, may need to modify the design – got nicer feedthroughs Test bench is operational Cu (vacuum) prototype – design ≥50% done Planning to start cutting copper in October Material (OFC) purchased Reference cavity – just started with the electrical design so far Signal processing electronics – overall layout finalized, looking for components, putting together spreadsheets Calibration scheme – overall layout finalized, key components found, quotes received (~£2-3k project)

WP 4.2 meeting, 13 September 20063 Prototype Al model MSSL finished working on the waveguides (spark erosion) UCL workshop to continue this week Slots, holes for the feedthroughs to be put in, beam pipe to be cut to the dimension, other bits and pieces to be put in

WP 4.2 meeting, 13 September 20065 Cavity BPM test bench Test bench is up and running 2.8 GHz oscillator is on its way to UCL VNA is on its way to RHUL
6
WP 4.2 meeting, 13 September 20066 Cu vacuum prototype Most of the problems cleared, brazing seems to be ok DN63 flanges to fit the rest of the ESA beamline, 8 through holes for support Need to modify the feedthroughs Reduced the length for easier machining, monopole rejection should be sufficient Need some input from KEK on tuners

WP 4.2 meeting, 13 September 200611 Calibration scheme Probably a final scheme now Can actually use the drive line power, but want to use it for the LO Still need to find suitable (high conversion gain) detectors Passive elements are not a problem
