14. The SMILE Program The Challenge SMILE high school students come to WOU and OSU for a scenario where they put their scientific knowledge to use in a community-based problem solving model.

15. The SMILE Program The Scenario 2004-2005: Oil Spill Remediation Students were invited to an Oil Spill Remediation Conference (modeled off of the NOAA -SOS - Science of Oil Spills) While they were at the conference an oil spill occurred, and they were asked to help make remediation plans.
