Boyle’s Law and Charles’ Law

Boyle's Law states that the volume of a sample of gas is inversely proportional to the pressure applied to the gas if the temperature is kept constant. Boyles Law As the pressure increases by a factor of 2, the volume decreases by ½. (½ is the inverse of 2.)

Charles Law Charles's Law states that the volume of a sample of gas is directly proportional to its Kelvin temperature if the pressure is constant. If the temperature increases by a factor of 2, the volume will increase by a factor of 2.
