Gas Laws
2
Boyles Law -Pressure and volume are Inversely proportional, or as one increases the other decreases at the same rate, assuming temperature is CONSTANT -P 1 V 1 =P 2 V 2 Pressure Volume
3
Charles Law -Volume and Absolute Temperature (Kelvin scale) are directly proportional, or as one increases, the other increases at the same rate, assuming Pressure is constant. -V 1 T 2 =V 2 T 1 or V 1 /T 1 =V 2 /T 2 temperature Volume
4
Gay-Lussac’s Law -As temperature increases, pressure increases, at an equal and proportional rate. Temperature must be in Kelvin!! -P 1 T 2 =P 2 T 1 OR P 1 /T 1 =P 2 /T 2 temperature Pressure
5
Combined Gas Law -Combined Gas Law, is the relationship between pressure, temperature and volume for a fixed number of Moles. Temperature must be in Kelvin! -(P 1 V 1 )/T 1 =(P 2 V 2 )/T 2

Ideal Gas Law https://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry/ga ses-and-kinetic-molecular-theory/ideal-gas- laws/v/ideal-gas-equation-pv-nrt https://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry/ga ses-and-kinetic-molecular-theory/ideal-gas- laws/v/ideal-gas-equation-pv-nrt Pressure, multiplied by volume is equal to the number of moles, Temperature in Kelvin, and constant R. Applies to gasses that have a change in the number of moles in the system. PV=nRT R constant= 8.314(L Kpa)/Mole K or.0821 (L atm)/mole K
