2. What is RT? O Narration serves as the framework of dramatic presentation. O No full stage sets. If used at all, sets are simple and suggestive. O No full costumes. If used at all, costumes are partial and suggestive, or neutral and uniform. O No full memorization. Scripts are used openly in performance.

4. RJ Readers Theater O Each member of the group will receive an individual project grade; however, your group will not be able to produce a successful Readers Theater presentation without everyone giving their best effort!

5. RJ Readers Theater O Topic Selection (5 min) O Groups will have about 5 minutes to look over the essential questions. Prepare at top 3 list. O I will randomly draw numbers to see which group makes a selection first, second, and so forth.

6. RJ Readers Theater O Develop Thesis and RT Concept O Once an essential question has been selected, each group will need to work together to create a thesis statement around which their RT presentation will center. O Look at your thesis statement handouts to review the qualities of a good thesis statement. O MAKE AN ASSERTION!

7. RJ Readers Theater O Assign Roles O RT projects are successful when every member of the group participates. Each group needs to assign roles for its members. Each group needs a leader to coordinate the efforts of each member. Each person should find quotes in support of the thesis. Your group can write the narration together, or assign that responsibility to one or two members. Someone might want to take charge of the performance (creative elements, stage blocking, etc). O Composing Rough Draft O Students will begin composing a rough draft of their RT script and working on the blocking.
