4 BACKGROUND inflammation of the bronchi 2 Types Acute- around 3 weeks usually caused by viral infection Chronic- around 3 months tobacco smoking

5 DIAGNOSIS Symptoms Cough, Production of sputum, Fatigue, Shortness of breath, Slight fever and chills, Chest discomfort Tests Physical exam listen to lungs Some cases Chest X-ray Sputum test Pulmonary function test

7 STATISTICS Nearly 9 million adults in the U.S. suffer from chronic bronchitis

8 CONCLUSION Bronchitis is the inflammation of the bronchi in the lungs. It can be Acute and last a short amount of time or be Chronic and last up to a year. Tobacco smoking is the main cause of Chronic Bronchitis.
