Health Aim - Be able to state the human and physical factors which affect health. Physical Climate- high temps spread disease esp. stomach related. Water supply- link between soft water and heart disease. Dirty water (contaminated by urine, faeces etc..) spreads disease such as cholera and typhoid. Vectors- Tropical areas suffer 000’s of flies and pests which help spread disease. Soils- poor soils and climatic conditions mean farming is poor, leading to malnutrition and starvation. Human Age- Young and old more vulnerable to disease. Sex- women live longer than men Diet- quantity and quality and type of food varies between different countries, malnutrition, starvation, obesity and heart disease. Social Factors- smoking, drinking and pollution.# Living conditions- poor ventilation, overcrowding, dampness can cause the spread of disease. Stress- common in the developed world and leading to diseases of heart, mental orders and cancers.
