Smooth Muscle: Longitudinal section -cigar shaped nuclei that are wider than those belonging to fibroblasts in connective tissue

Skeletal Muscle: Cross Section -Peripherally located nuclei (as opposed to the centrally located nuclei in cardiac muscle) -Irregularly shaped bundles
