CENTRIFUGAL PUMP ADVANTAGES This type of pump is cheaper and requires less maintenance They will operate with a constant head pressure over a wide capacity range It is easier to replace internal components Ability to select the driver: could be either variable HP / fixed or variable speed

CENTRIFUGALPUMP DISADVANTAGES This type of pumps have very poor tolerances between the internal components Typically used in lower pressure systems that move thinner fluids such as water Rely on the centrifugal force that is developed within the fluid as it is being pumped through the propeller Unit will have to be primed before can be started or cavitation (the formation of gas pockets around the impellers) could cause damage
