2 Problem Statement, Objective and Scope Problem Statement –SPE spends too much on outside vendors to process our content for EMEA network channels. SPE can provide a better solution at a lower cost that will strategically give SPE more control over our own content. This problems is project to become worse over the next three years as OTT and Non Linear TV will drive additional file conversion requirements Objective –Implement the technology required to enable SPT EMEA Networks to completely insource our content ingestion & preparation to playout & archive starting at the beginning of fiscal year F14 and completing in approximately 1 year Benefits –We anticipate a break even ROI after about 3 years (completing analysis) and to save at least $500K / year from then on assuming very little changes to the channels portfolio (more growth would add benefits) Project Costs –$8.5M ($5M core media systems, $2M technical infrastructure and network, 1.5M business systems integrations) Anticipated Project Timeline –April 2013 – July 2014 (Golive in May 2014) 2
