should be at its BEST? Love Did you know that
4
Love is self sacrificing Love is giving of oneself Love calls everybody friends Including those who have hurt you and betrayed you
5
Love is not an emotion Love is an action Love is not inward focus Love is outward focus
6
Love is best expressed and cultivated in times of a disappointment Love is love if it loves despite of…
7
29 But Peter said to Him, “Even though all may fall away, yet I will not.” 30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, that this very night, before a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.” 31 But Peter kept saying insistently, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing also. MARK 14:29-31 (NASB)

66 As Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant-girls of the high priest came, 67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with Jesus the Nazarene.” 68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.” And he went out onto the porch. MARK 14:66-68 (NASB)
9
So this story is not a story of Peter THIS IS OUR STORY We are here in this story
10
3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will also come with you.” JOHN 21:3 (NASB)
11
6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch.” So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved *said to Peter, “It is the Lord.” So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea. JOHN 21:6-7 (NASB)
12
JESUS will always go out of his way to meet you, to change your disappointment to gladness, to change your sin to capacity to love God
14
Don’t ever think that coming to church is about you being entertained. Coming to church is understanding the love of God. It is also about growing in the love of God.
15
12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples ventured to question Him, “Who are You?” knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise. 14 This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead. JOHN 21:12-14 (NASB)
16
LOVE IS FOR ALL SEASONS
18
Love is not meant to be kept. Love is meant to be given away Love is meant to be expressed
19
15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.” JOHN 21:15 (NASB)
20
16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” JOHN 21:16 (NASB)
21
17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep. JOHN 21:17 (NASB)
