SKATING BODY SYSTEMS By: Alexandra Mercurio
2
SKELETAL SYSTEM The skeletal system creates framework for your body. Without bones you wouldn’t be able to do moves. Exercise keeps your bones healthy so skating benefits the bones
3
MUSCULAR SYSTEM Muscles mostly used in skating: Abs: When you land you are using abs to push yourself forward because of the force put on them (they are then being trained). And to keep your body up. Quads: When stroking and pushing your quads will be used and put force upon. Core: To hold your back up and do spirals you need to hold your core. You need to stretch so you don’t pull a muscle
4
CIRCULATORY SYSTEM Your heart pumps blood to your veins and throughout your body every second. Your heartbeat may beat faster because of physical activity.
5
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM The respiratory system is a system in the body that takes in oxygen and replaces it with carbon dioxide when you breathe. So during a activity such as skating you may breathe a bit heavier out of exercise, then your respiratory system will be used.
6
NERVOUS SYSTEM Your nerves enable you to feel a movement of any jump, spin, or a other move. So therefore you can know if your position is incorrect or fine. This system also helps you be able to sense pain if you get injured, or fall.
7
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM There are some foods that will help you, junk food is definitely not one of them as it doesn’t help your body. Some foods that will help: almonds, milk, almond milk, eggs, toast, oranges, sardines., and soup.
8
IMMUNE SYSTEM If you are sick it will effect your performance, so take steps to keep healthy. Because your skating will be better if you have good health.
