Table 2 SCDE Personnel Report SC Public Charter School District January 31, 2013
2
SCDE Personnel Report This report captures your special education staff. How to figure out part time/split staff? Examples: –If you have a counselor who works 2 hours a week with a child with a disability (because the IEP requires it). Divide the 1 hour by a full work week (40 hours). 2 / 40.0 =.05 (counselor) –Your special education teacher works 20 hours a week as a special education teacher and 20 hours as a 2 nd grade teacher: 20/40.0 =.50 (special education teacher)
3
SCDE Personnel Report More Examples: Your contact speech language pathologist works 30 hours a week as the schools’ SLP –30/40 =.75 (speech language pathologist) Your school’s special education coordinator does not have a caseload and does not provide instruction. –0/40.0 = 0 –These positions are not recorded on Table 2. Your special education coordinator provides instruction at 15 hours a week and the other time is “coordinator-related duties.” –15/40.0 =.375 (special education teacher)

SCDE Personnel Report What’s not captured: –Non-instructional positions (coordinators who do not keep a caseload) –People who do not provide weekly services You have an OT who comes in as needed to provide evaluations, but doesn’t see a kid at a weekly interval. Something that’s different this year: –HQ in Special Education vs NHQ –You’ll need to figure this out (work with your school’s HR person if you don’t know someone’s status... Please do not assume. This report is due Friday, February 7 th to Zenobia. Questions – contact Zenobia.
