1. In your own words, what is a metaphor?

3.  Find a good metaphor. If you don’t have a note that includes a metaphor, look in your Book Thief book – they are everywhere!  Re-write this metaphor at the top of a blank sheet of paper. Take five minutes to write on what this metaphor means. Share with your neighbor.

4.  Take your metaphor and draw a picture of exactly what it says.  Write out the metaphor somewhere on the page. Use color Use pen  On the back of the picture, write one paragraph explaining what your metaphor means. You may use and expand upon what you wrote in your journals.
