3.  defined as an individual who:  delivers, manages, trains and/or supervises services for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Mental Health (MH) needs.  staff working in units of county, state or provincial government, Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDPs), program directors, program supervisors, case/care managers, program specialists, supports coordinators, peer specialists, trainers and others. 3

6.  Masters in related field with 1 year experience, or;  Bachelor’s in related field with 2 years of experience, or;  60 credit hours in the IDD and/or MH field with 3 years of experience, or;  High school diploma with a thorough description and explanation of experience. 6

8.  Once the application credentials have been approved;  Applicant will receive instructions to submit a work sample relative to the work performed by the applicant.  An interview is the final component in the process. This is generally done by telephone. The applicant’s work sample will be discussed at this time.  If the applicant passes, then the specialist will receive the NADD certification and is entitled to use “NADD-DDS” as a credential. 8
