3 The Moon’s orbit has a 5% incline. This means that is usually orbiting above or below the direct line of sunlight as it passes around the Earth. This is the reason we do not see an eclipses every month.

5 A Solar Eclipses The Moon blocks most of the light because it is 400 x closer than the Sun to the Earth; even though the Moon is 400 x smaller than the Sun.
