W: Welcome to our program, Aiden. I don’t know much about you. Where were you born? M: I was born in London, but I spent most of my childhood in Hong Kong. W: What was your childhood like? M: There were many family rules when I was a child, and my parents were always strict with us.

W: Where did you go to university? M: My parents wanted me to stay in Hong Kong, but I decided to go back to England. I graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English literature. W: What do you do now? M: I’m a freelance writer. I write magazine articles and fiction books.

W: Did you always know that you wanted to be a writer? M: No, I didn’t. I was an English teacher for five years, but by the time I was 30, I decided I wanted a fresh challenge. W: How did you start writing? M: I started writing magazine articles for fun and later was asked to write a book, so I was pretty lucky.
