Amazon River The Amazon is approximately 4,000 miles long. The largest city along the Amazon River is Manaus. The Amazon runs through seven cities including Brazil.

Andes Mountain The Andes Mountain range is about 4,300 miles long, the longest mountain range in the world. The Andes stretch north to south through South America. The highest peak in the Andes is Mount Aconcagu which rises to 22,841 feet.

Strait of Magellan Strait of Magellan is located on the south end of South America. Strait of Magellan is named after Ferdinand Magellan the Portuguese adventurer. This Strati was the fastest and safest way to connect the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Lake Titicaca Lake Titicaca is located south east of Peru. Lake Titicaca lays in a sub basin in the high Andes mountains and is fed by the melting glacier and rainwater. Lake Titicaca is a sacred place for the Inca civilization.

Caribbean islands Caribbean islands are surrounded by Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Straits of Florida. Caribbean islands are approximately 92,541 square miles. The four largest Caribbean Islands are Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico.

Galapagos Islands The Galapagos was home to the only surviving giant Pinta tortoise. The Galapagos Islands are multiple islands scattered almost 1000 km off the Pacific coast of South America. Charles Darwin noticed that different species existed on the Galapagos islands.
