2 INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Effective Incident Communications provides the connection between the Strategic level of the IC, the Tactical level of the Sector Officers, and the Task Level of the firefighters.

3 INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Communications becomes one of the major tools of Command’s operational effectiveness and control, and it must have a standard set of system elements to be effective

4 INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Some of these elements include: -Using standardized reporting -Keeping radio reports brief & concise -Exercising radio discipline -Painting a picture of scene -Identifying the IC

5 INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The communications process starts out with the Initial Radio Report from the First Arriving Apparatus
