The Exodus How many people? How many people? ‘about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children’ ‘a mixed multitude also went up with them’ ‘and very much livestock, both flocks and herds’

The Exodus Where are they going? Where are they going? Ultimately → ‘to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey’ Generally → ‘a three days journey into the wilderness’ Specifically → Horeb, the mountain of God

The Exodus How did they get there? How did they get there? God led them Prevention: God did not want them to turn back How did God lead them? Progression: God did not want them to stop Where did God lead them? Purpose: God wanted to save them

Crossing the Red Sea Before: they feared greatly Before: they feared greatly After: the people feared the LORD Before: they cried out to the LORD and they questioned Moses Before: they cried out to the LORD and they questioned Moses After: they believed in the LORD and in his servant Moses What happened? What happened? “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

How Did Moses Part the Red Sea? “Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground. And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

To God Be The Glory To God be the glory great things he has done! So loved he the world that he gave us his Son, Who yielded his life an atonement for sin And opened the life gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, Let the earth hear his voice! Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! Come to the Father thru Jesus the Son, And give him the glory great things he has done!

Great things he has taught us, great things he has done, And great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Son; But purer and higher and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see. Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, Let the earth hear his voice! Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! Come to the Father thru Jesus the Son, And give him the glory great things he has done!
